A new religious Fatwa holds some 600 pages of condemnation for suicide bombers and terrorists. But I put it to you: Imagine the effect a decree from the Pope would have on the Protestant majority….
Yes, yes, there are pages full of inconsistencies in the Qu’ran listed elsewhere on the internet. That’s all fine and dandy, but this is my dusty corner of the internet and I have a penchant for writing down anything that may come in handy as ammunition during some future debate.
This article is meant for people who are perhaps new to atheism, and feel the need to contribute, to do something with it. But what do you do if you’re a new atheist? Write something? Make pro-atheism Youtube videos? Find people to debate with?
Here’s some advice for aspiring new atheists…
While I was building my first guitar, I got interested in winding my own custom pickups. I experimented with a few things, made a bunch of oddball pickups. Including this teeny tiny one mounted on the back of a guitar pickup:
More info and a video after the jump!
(At least he’s not Dr. Zakir Naik)
I don’t think I can agree with most of what Tariq preaches. He sounds like he’s presenting new ideas, and will appeal to those with short memories, and those who haven’t heard his arguments before. He’s selling his own brand of Islam, and arguing from within [...]
There are a lot of random cartoons and pictures as well as motivational posters…this batch feels a bit more political and less funny. Oh well, life is too short to go through it without offending some people.
More silly/funny/stupid religion related pictures from around the net. Why? Because I have no life.
Preamble: This is not an article for or against Islamic culture, or Western culture, or religion. This is a nit-picky observation of the interaction between two groups of people, and small details that unintentionally work to produce far reaching cultural effects.
Follow along as I do some simple tweaking on a couple photos taken by a friend of mine in Pakistan. This will be remedial to experienced Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom users, but might be useful for beginners.
Goofing off with one of my bestest buds.
Why? Because I need to put them somewhere, so I can hotlink them around the internet while being a dick on internet forums and asserting my epeen.
Ah, Youtube, your commercialization and decline is sad… but punctuated by some pretty ironic shit.
Well my home made guitar is done, and named. She’s called Drippy, named after either a bad experience in the 70’s, or my (lack of) lacquer spraying skills. I can’t believe this used to be boards!
It’s been awhile… Here’s a sneak peak from my latest photoshoot. More to come when I’m done fiddling in Photoshop!
Well, I’ve been locked up in a room making sawdust for the last week. I’m building a guitar. From scratch.
Some pictures of how it’s coming so far: (Ignore the dates, I’m using some cheap old camera so I don’t have to worry about the sawdust killing it)
In this post: I rant for 5 minutes about religion and atheism, God and infallibility, moderates and terrorists, apologists and fundamentalists. But now with VIDEO!
My journal fell apart the other day. Which pissed me off, because I like to write in nice leather bound journals. Anyway, I copied everything interesting over to a new one, and reading the old stuff made me open up my old sketchbooks. I used to draw a lot. I don’t think I was very [...]
Old friend emails me, he asks how me and Die in a Fire (Aka Jackie) broke up, ‘cuz we didn’t talk for like 2 years. I answered in the form of a cartoon, because I still don’t talk about her. Not that I hold a grudge or anything! Hold on, I have to go burn [...]
Today I’m happy to post something from my friend Amna, writing from Peshawar, Pakistan:
You can taste the dirty, thick, dust filled air even through the windows. It’s one of the things I forgot about driving in Pakistan – all the wonders and fears that are experienced.
The road to Kohat from Peshawar, so many people out [...]
