Good Jam Session

Had an awesomely fun 5 hour jam session today with Colin and Conrad, here’s some highlights.
A Week of Practicing Drumming

Playing some more drums, recorded to see my progress. I played the crappy guitar riff separately, because I haven’t figured out how to play guitar with my nose yet.
Damien Plays the Drums

I wanted to record myself on drums, then record myself playing guitar…but the video got kind of fuxxored. :/
Movie Review: Crash (FUCK YOU HOLLYWOOD)

I know, I know, movie reviews are to blogs what corn kernels are to shit. That’s why I don’t do movie reviews. The only time I’ll talk about movies is when I’m ranting about the shortcomings of movies that have given me a hate-boner.
Call Me Reverend

Something I’ve been waiting for finally arrived today… The certificate officiating my ordainment as Reverend Damien Laliberte. Nope, this isn’t a joke. I can now baptize, marry, and perform various and sundry other ministerial tasks in 49 of the 50 glorious United States of America, and parts of Canada. Time to piss God off. WHERE [...]
Stupid, Protest-y “Feminists” at Lectures

There is a woman, maybe the same one, I don’t know, but there’s always one at EVERY scientific lecture or presentation that in any way involves discernible differences between men and women and how the differences relate to behavior.
Usually a large woman, with a disproportionately small backpack.
Behaviors I Hate
Ex. 1: When you say something and people refute it with household nonsense.
“I just read this report in Science Magazine by Real Smart People Who Do Research that says most people in France speak French.”
“Yeah but I knew a guy from France and he actually didn’t speak French. He spoke Spanish.”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP. THAT [...]

The Story of Jackie
Old friend emails me, he asks how me and Die in a Fire (Aka Jackie) broke up, ‘cuz we didn’t talk for like 2 years. I answered in the form of a cartoon, because I still don’t talk about her. Not that I hold a grudge or anything! Hold on, I have to go burn [...]
The Road to Kohat

Today I’m happy to post something from my friend Amna, writing from Peshawar, Pakistan:
You can taste the dirty, thick, dust filled air even through the windows. It’s one of the things I forgot about driving in Pakistan – all the wonders and fears that are experienced.
The road to Kohat from Peshawar, so many people out [...]
Kids These Days

You know, I turned into a curmudgeonly old man pretty damn fast. On that note, I’d like to put forth that more and more people are growing up to be borderline illiterate. Most university students are fail at communication in just about every medium. It’s not just that they’re writing with computers instead of typewriters [...]
Anima, Animus, Exonym, Endonym

I dreamt of blood upon the shore,
Of eyes that spoke of sin
The lake was smooth, and deep, and black
As was her scented skin.
